Builder Gel (also known as hard gel)
Why choose Builder Gel?
- long-lasting, chip-resistant enhancement
- Perfect for weak, brittle, or short nails
- flexible feel while maintaining strength
- self-levels, reducing the need for excessive filing
- thick consistency
- flawless application
What You’ll Need:
- PROFFI Builder Gel
- UV/LED Lamp (for curing)
- Nail Prep Tools (cuticle pusher, nail file, buffer)
- Slip Solution (or 70% isopropyl alcohol for smoothing)
- Acrylic Gel Brush & Spatula
- Nail Forms or Dual Forms (for extensions)
- Base Coat & Top Coat
- Cleanser Wipes
Step 1: Nail Prep
- Sanitize & Prep – Start by sanitizing hands and nails. Push back cuticles and remove excess skin
- Shape the Nail – File and buff the natural nail to remove shine. Ensure the surface is clean and dry
- Apply a Dehydrator & Primer – This step prevents lifting and ensures better adhesion
- Apply a Base Coat – Cure under a UV/LED lamp as per the recommended time (usually 30-60 sec)
Step 2: Builder Gel Application
- Apply a thin layer of builder gel and do not cure (this helps the next layer glide smoothly)
- Using a small bead of builder gel, apply it near the center and guide it towards the edges, creating an even, structured layer
- Place the hand under the UV/LED lamp (60–120 seconds)
- For added strength, apply a second layer and cure again if needed
Tips for the Best Results:
- Work in thin layers to prevent heat spikes
- Flip the hand upside down for a few seconds to help form a natural apex
- Avoid touching the skin to prevent lifting
Step 3: Refining & Finishing
- File and shape the nails as desired, ensuring smooth edges
- Buff the surface for a flawless finish
- Apply top coat and cure under the lamp
- Wipe with cleanser if needed to remove the sticky residue
- Apply cuticle oil to keep nails hydrated and healthy
- Avoid excessive water exposure for the first few hours after application
